It is sad that there are what you might call professional Catholics who make a living on their Catholicism, but in whom the spring of faith flows only faintly, in a few scattered drops. We must really make an effort to change this.

Day's Links:
I stumbled onto another good piece by Louie Verrechio, entitled "A Tale of Two Pontiffs". It was written on February 12th, 2014, a year to the day of Pope Benedict's resignation, meaning we had witnessed less than a year of Bergoglian antics and scandals.
The questions he poses are very pointed and deserve consideration. He seems convinced that the ploy to replace the humble Pope Benedict XVI with the boisterous Pope Francis was in the works for a very long time, and was brought about by the hatred of authentic Catholicism as practiced most exemplarily by the SSPX. He points out not a few events which back up his assertion.
It is really difficult to say why Pope Benedict XVI resigned. I am of the mind that he has earned our trust and that if he says it was for health reasons then it is likely to have been the case. Still, it is difficult to note how the media which was so anti-papacy now seems to celebrate Francis, and how the Church's enemies have been emboldened, both internally and externally - especially inside the Church - and not conclude that somehow the Church's enemies had something to do with it.
Whatever the case, the Church is now paying a heavy price for Pope Benedict XVI's abdication.
